Jean Pieniadz, PhD
Jean Pieniadz, Ph.D., received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Vermont (1988), and her Certificate in Psychoanalysis & Comprehensive Psychotherapy from the National Training Program/National Institute for the Psychotherapies (NYC) (2006). She is licensed in Vermont and Connecticut. She received post-graduate training in Dialogue Therapy with Couples from Polly Young-Eisendrath, Ph.D. and Ed Epstein, MSW, in 2008-2009.
She has been in private practice in Burlington, Vermont since 1986, where she has a general practice in psychoanalysis and psychotherapy, and has been a Dialogue Therapist with Couples with co-therapist Joel Shapiro, LCSW.
She is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Psychiatry Dept. of the University of Vermont, and has taught numerous courses at UVM, St. Michael’s College, and Southern New Hampshire University. She is on the faculty of the Vermont Institute for the Psychotherapies (Montpelier, VT), a 2-year certificate program in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. She is co-author, with Polly Young-Eisendrath, of Dialogue Therapy for Couples: A Method Based on Psychoanalysis and Mindfulness (Routledge, 2021).
